why has British Columbia had consistently high police reported drug offences?
There are drug offences being committed all across Canada but for some reason British Columbia has had significantly high rates of drug offences, why is it that British Columbia has higher rates than the rest of Canada? It could be because of our geographical location, or maybe its because we have more gangs in our cities like Vancouver. The RCMP estimated that BC has about 133 organized crime groups and about 30 street gangs, these groups make money through mostly distributing drugs in the drug trade. We have gangs like the Red Scorpions, The Untied Nations, and The Hell's Angles, having a higher rate in gangs could very likely result in a higher amount of drug offences. Not only do we have more gangs but we also are right on the coast which makes it a lot easier to receive and distribute drugs in BC.
